I’ve been under siege the past couple weeks by an unstoppable aphid army. I have gone the scorched earth route and wiped out many of their bravest warriors with an absolutely savage dish soap spray attack but those that remained struck back twice as hard. I fear for my plants life but I will continue to battle. If nothing else, these peppers will absolutely sparkle.

I may have to cut my losses and cull these plants if this next round of spraying doesn’t work. I must protect my precious jalapeño crop at all costs!

There is some evidence visible light can kill insects link. At 500 ppfd (umoles m-2 s-1) that would be like 3x10^20 photons m-2 s-1, so you'd be in the right range to do damage lol. If you got extra lights try putting some lights underneath your plants so they hit the bottom and tops of the leaves for 72 h straight. Long shot but be freaking cool if worked.

besides the dish soap mix have you tried any other IPM or control method?? with me switching over to no till I have found a awesome site for IPM's.. http://www.evergreengrowers.com
they have anything and everything to control pests.. from predatory bugs to sticky traps.. from soil drenches to pheromone lures... and 90% of it is organic ( I'm sure there's a few things on there not 100% organic safe)

I use predatory bugs along with some essential oil sprays in veg.. normally I have fungus gnats or spider mite roaming around.... but since starting the IPM I have not had a problem....you can always get a lavender plant or some mint also to help.. they don't like it 😁
