This video documents my assembly of the 90 watt, 135 watt, and 260 watt versions of Horticulture Lighting Group’s Quantum Board kits. In next week’s video, we’ll look into how the boards work, how to dim them properly, and how to expand your light with additional boards. Shoutout to HLG for sending me these kits to experiment with!
Great job on the video, dude. Those lights are amazing… they look so light and I love the single hanging point. I can’t wait until they have more stock so I can pick up the 135 or 260w kit.
I got 5 Vero 29 SEs (split between 3000/3500/4000K) and an HLG 320/1050 (pretty good prices at Arrow Electronics) last week, but I couldn’t find any distributors who would send the heatsinks overnight for a reasonable price (so I grabbed the 140’s from Rapid, I’ll have ’em Friday).
Not sure if I’ll be able to use both lights together, or if I’ll use one to start a second grow area. Plus I still have the Vero kit from Rapid that I’m using now… interesting times.
Thanks! 1050mA should be really efficient. How big is your space again? If it’s a large space, you could probably supplement the Veros with the QBs since you’re running them pretty soft.
Edit – I forgot you were running the C versions and not the 36V D version. Should still be decently efficient but way brighter than I was thinking.
Thanks for reviewing these and showing the detail on wiring! I really like that your videos are straightforward with information and content.
You bet! I’ll be publishing part 2 tomorrow night which goes into more detail on the boards. Thanks for the feedback.
