Re: DIY HLG V2 build (Im a noob).

The Atreum Quantum V2 boards are roughly identical but cheaper. They sell with a cheap heatsink kit too. I prefer their square size. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Horticultural-Lighting-288-V2-LED-Board-3000K-Full-Spectrum-Quantum-LM301B-SK/192509696799?epid=4022054892&hash=item2cd278db1f:g:GhcAAOSwDrVbJ...

Re: small alibaba drivers

Meanwell can suck it ;) I was staring at a driver in my junk pile like that last night thinking such thoughts. I'm playing catch-up so I have nothing of value to add other than thank you for sharing your tinkerings. Unkle Psycho, you set a pace I can't quite match. I may be an American but my blood ...

Re: Repurposing Laptop/Electronics power supplies

I put .91 amps at 19.6v (in my 2-foot strip) down to innacuracies in the meters. I am using a clamp-on ammeter. I have a pretty good voltage meter but it's no Fluke. The ammeter seems to require a perfect middle and due to my wiring I can't quite achieve that. Does that seem like a viable explanatio...

Re: Repurposing Laptop/Electronics power supplies

I haven't had the money to buy more strips; rather, my girlfriend thinks buying non-essentials like food and gasoline are more important than critical scientific research.

The strip pulls around .95 amp. Still working great. nonstop.

Trouble with seedlings at 3000K

I was hoping that my pair of Atreum 288.2 3000K boards would grow from seed to harvest; spectrum charts indicate there is plenty of blue even at the lowest power. However, even at a meager 100W, the seedlings began to bleach with some burning and curling at the tips, and basically wouldn't grow (hea...

Re: Can different length strips of same voltage be connected parallel?

3v is just rough math. The diodes may or may not be able to run that high, but by using that number one can quickly make assumptions about many are run in series. For instance, 3v x 6 is 18, which clearly wouldn't fit these strips voltage, while 3v x 8 is too much. This was just offered as a lazy ma...

Re: Can different length strips of same voltage be connected parallel?

The Bridgelux EB GEN2 strips are wired 7 in series x 8 parallel in 1-foot, 7s x 16p in 2-foot. Bridgelux are kind enough to print it on the strip, but I had a lot of fun trying to follow the complex printing on my 2-foot strip before realizing that. Anyway, 7x3v is 21v so I'd already made the assump...

Re: Multimeter use on bridgelux 1 foot setup

Most of the inexpensive clamp-on Ammeters are for AC only. They're useful to see how much current the combination of the driver and LEDS are pulling from the wall. I use a Killawatt meter for that and it works well as my light only has one driver. For current measuring on the DC output side of the ...

Re: Multimeter use on bridgelux 1 foot setup

Well, once I borrowed it I realized that the second its returned I will be going to the store to buy one. Especially working with these Atreum quantum-style boards. I have two of those wired in parallel to a HLG-240H-54A, I find the voltage pot is tough to control with a 5v range. And there was a le...
