Upgrading lights but want to Keep 480-48a
Thinking about upgrading lights from cutters sol skin lights which run 48v, to something more up with the play. But looking it seems most modern stuff now runs 54v. Any pointers to which boards or even strips for that matter which would still be compatible with a meanwell 480-48a driver? Doesn't hav...

Re: Meanwell 470-48A driver inital adj. setup.
So adjusting Vo, is more of a way to cap the voltage drawn at specific number and the boards will regulate what they draw if I leave it as it is? While if I ramp up Io to the max, voltage will self regulate anyway? Any link to to the thread? Sounds like it will have some good points I good go over. ...

Re: Meanwell 470-48A driver inital adj. setup.
So if I increased current and voltage together the draw would still be 44v but I'd see an increase in current? Would juts like to say thank you also, you've always been a help on my posts. Appreciate it.

Re: Meanwell 470-48A driver inital adj. setup
16 SSK boards from cutter, in parallel. The site says they are rated for 48v max and 1.25 amp max, from my understanding I won't be able to increase current without increasing voltage along side. So not to sure what would happen to the boards if I were to exceed that voltage, would there be any adve...

Re: Meanwell 470-48A driver inital adj. setup.
I can find the range they are able to adjust, but not what they come set as. Or would these parameters be 48v/10a in the case of the 480 48A? I'm just curious is it even worth playing with them as I'm mainly interested in running them both maxed out, so just curious as to there current position out ...

I'm curious before I play with them how do the vo/io adjusters come setup when you receive them? fully cranked up already/mid/low?
Cheers.
Cheers.

Re: 18 AWG wire with hlg-480h-48 quesion
Thanks, yeah I will probably run 15 Awg then. Just needed to double check that my doubts about 18awg were valid. As most information available I've found seem to only be relevant to when most setups were predominately done in series. Another question, would there be any advantage to running solid as...

18 AWG wire with hlg-480h-48 quesion
Question regarding the suitability of 18 AWG wire for a circuit that has 48 volts and 10 amps on the dc side (16 led strips to make 0.625a /strip).
How suitable is 18 AWG wire with this amount of amperage? I've found conflicting information ranging from 7.5a to 16a.

Re: Bridgelux Gen 2 source/alternative.
The Cutter boards are using NICHIA NF2W757G-V2F1 chips. https://prokcssmedia.blob.core.windows.net/sys-master-images/h0d/h5b/9420750258206/nichia-leds-2017-2018.pdf 163 l/mw at 90 cri. I'm not to clued up as to weather the increase in cri is really worth the sacrifice in efficiency, but the efficien...

Re: Bridgelux Gen 2 source/alternative.
Just found that cutter actually has 191 lm/w @ 700ma running at 43.4v, so something like 30w a board, at that high of efficiency. All be it in 80Cri, the 90 cri runs at around 140ish lm/w. And their nichia chips run at around 165ish lm/w at 90cri! All regarding the 3000k spectrum. Why aren't these m...
