It does buddy. The driver just manges the total voltage and runs at a tested 550w at the wall wit 4 qb288 and 1 qb18. But apparently the hlg 480 drivers don't like being pushed that hard certainly not in a hot environment. So best at the 490w. But I run mine remotely so hopefully she'll hold.

I can do a genuine hlg 550 kit for approx £550 but I'm in the UK unfortunately buddy. If you can buy the genuine hlg boards and slate sinks there and get the driver and bits cheap that would probably be your best bet. The diodes are garaunteed top bin for both flux and voltage. And the sinks are dee...

And if it's hlg R spec boards and sinks you'd like let me know. I have stock in the UK ready to dispatch.

Putting less wattage into the tent will lower it's temperature any way you choose to do it. But personally with that space I'd increase ventilation as 320w will be a great amount of light for it and should give you the ppfd you're looking for.

As not genuine better to run in series buddy. I'd run the 480 2100 but you'll only get around 490w at the wall. You can always add a qb 18 to this mind and that then pulls a full 550w from the wall.

I'd recommend either 4 x qb288 R spec and a hlg 480 2100 or inventronics 600 2800 if you want max power.

And if you want peak possible efficacy I'd recommend this 4 x R spec and a qb18 for added Emerson effect. It's my own custom build. I call her Tracy, as she's a filthy girl.

Hlg along with the awesome R spec qb288 v2 also have a range of extremely efficient high end supplements. Blue, red, far red and now uv. I'm stocking them and experimenting myself along with a couple of close customers. It should be very interesting to see the results especially with the uv suppleme...

All very good points and side lighting is something I've wanted to experiment with since I heard of the potential results from a vertical cooltube with 1000w warm mh and 4 plants around her. I'd have to recommend hlgs latest qb288 v2 R spec boards for peak performance relative to price. Then perhaps...
