Re: witch cob for 100w usage pliz?

Yeah I am aware that since the CXB3590 came out, others followed and they may be "better". I also hear a lot of talk about Quantum boards recently. But, then I dug a little deeper and to me it looks as if Cree is still King if you drive them low, and low and behold, there is even an article here on ...

Re: Cxm 32 v4

320W from a single LED, this is silly, but also sorta cool in its simplicity :) Led: €45ish Heatsink (actually having a hell of a time finding a 300W-ish heatsink like that of that size, but I am estimating €70), Driver €95, Calculating €25 for the rest, cables, thermal paste etc. (That would be ult...

Oh, heck yeah. Did a quick calculation, that would be the most lumens/light.

I am an idiot (Just found I am using a less than optimal Meanwell driver)

I am embarrassed that I just found something out, even with me being into DIY LEDS for many years. So, when I started some years ago I got this fixture with 4x CXB3590. (My growing area is only 1.20x0.60, depending). I got the MW HLG-240h-C1750A since I figured a little more headroom of up to 1750mA...

Re: Adding Blue and Red

Hi! Do you think that adding extra blues and reds for veg and flower to 3500K COBs is worth it? Just wondering what your reasoning there is. I run CXB3590K and never felt I needed to add any reds or blues. Looking at the spectral curves of these COBs (and I am sure CLU is similar), they look fine to...

Lenses are bad, just saying.

I built my fixture about 4+ years ago, and I built it with these glass lenses. All I can say is that the lenses are absolutely not worth it, and they cause much more troubles than having any real benefits, IMO. First, the lenses are the heaviest part of the entire fixture, they make the lights extre...

Re: Oops - thermal paste leaking through COB

I did some maintenance on my DIY fixture yesterday, and I see this some times. It's not a big deal, the TIM doesn't even cover the LEDs. (Even if it does, turn the lights off, let it cool, and carefully wipe with with a paper towel and alcohol. I did that already a few times, and my COBs work alread...

Re: witch cob for 100w usage pliz?

Yes I got aware that these Luminus COBs are "more efficient" according to the one or the other Youtube video - but then I dug a but more, it looks to me that this "better efficiency" is merely when you're driving the COBs at max. But who does that? I am driving mine (6x CXB3590 at 875mA *maximum*, a...
