Re: Making the best of a dumb situation...

I was looking at a 2700k CRI 90 spectrum from Cree yesterday trying to work out how to get the best from both worlds, the conclusion was to have one channel of near UV 400nm to 430nm and 2700K. This way the blue channel could be turned up if needed for microgreens and a different VEG cycle, the 270...

Re: The mystery of the Mean Well type AB driver models?

Yup. I just think the rep meant to check the voltage and current first.

Re: Programmable 0-10V dimmer

One issue meanwell still has and also many other driver companies is a high inrush current. They really should set things up for a soft start, I know a lot of the Philips drivers have soft start. This is exactly why I bought a tc-420 dimmer. One of the strong reasons anyway. Will run on a 10v power...

Re: What are the current boards/strips to buy?

Actually I like the idea of running a lot of cheaper strips. Do other issues come up if I am running a heap of strips at half their rating? Will it affect the height I run the light at and the depth of penetration I get? Or does it just throw down the same wattage more efficiently? I am also a begi...

Re: Making the best of a dumb situation...

Another thought was too use the Vestas (10-12, @800-675mA each) in veg with the drivers I have. Once I have them tuned to the proper CCT for my needs I'd replace the driver running lower wattage with an appropriately sized one and bring the 150 to flower the other area. This would allow me to trade ...

Re: Making the best of a dumb situation...

Man, you guys are absolutely killing me! :D Sorry for not getting back sooner, life got in the way... So I thought about the Vestas, and as much as I like them I can't bring myself to dedicate to running only them. Between TEKNIK and rocket soul pushing the versatility of the Vestas, and prawn and r...

Re: The mystery of the Mean Well type AB driver models?

Talked to meanwell a few days ago to verify my hlg-150h-48b drivers were actually type ab. They have a small extra sticker with "code# hlg-150h-48abhl" above the meanwell logo of the main sticker, and dim wires as well as pot adjustments on the body. I was told that the a, b, and ab drivers were all...

Re: Making the best of a dumb situation...

More lights spread out everywhere will give you a better result even if the figures on paper do not look as impressive. If you are on a budget buy what you need to get by and you can always add more later if you want. Thanks for the reminder on theory vs practice, I needed that... Edit :they update...
