Re: Soldering diodes to pcb experiment

I will be adding to my Bridgelux setup below. Also will be adding more strips for efficiency.

Soldering diodes to pcb experiment

Decided to play around with soldering diodes. To my supersize it actually worked! Now the fun begins with inexpensive supplements. They are Samsung LH351H diodes and blank 5050 pcb's. There is a bit of alignment issue however it's not enough to matter much once they seat into solder. 10.jpg 7.jpg 9....

Re: Does this check out for a 2x4 area?

I was thinking of some ideas to balance out the spectrum without over complicating things. I'm looking at "CRM-3050-Optisolis" pucks on Cutter. They have roughly the same forward voltage as the Bridgelux strips im using. would it be a bad idea adding them in parallel to the same circuit?

Re: Does this check out for a 2x4 area?

Nice light. Remember, if you're going to run odor control (carbon scrubber, exhaust fan) exhausting air with a passive intake, you shouldn't need to worry about heat or stagnant air. Passive vents low on one side, and exhaust pipe/scrubber/fan high on the opposite side is how I'd go; it makes for g...

Re: Heating in the winter

I use to keep my room heated gpu mining. It's a big investment in computer hardware and im not sure how profitable it is these days. I was profiting roughly $80cad a week while pulling 1000w from the wall before bitcoin crashed. Not a good solution im sure, just a funny experience.

Re: Using ebay cob for house plants (failed)

I seen some par readings on those large rectangle cobs, they seems to do alright if not driven hard.

Some more research on the "mains" cob I have and it appears to have temperature limiting. No issues yet (close eye on it).

Re: Need sugestions for SAD light setup.

This topic interests me as well. From my understanding UVB would help with vitamin D, however skin/eye damage concerns me with that approach. I rather take supplements during the winter for that.

Re: Does this check out for a 2x4 area?

Yup driver is grounded and the fixture gets ground from the driver body(0 ohms from driver plug to the frame).

Your probably right, Im sure the driver has safety checks if the low voltage side shorted some how. I think I will also cover the solder connections with liquid tape.
