Voltage drop does occur and gets alot worse with thinner wiring.

The HLG-600H-48B specs says it'll do 48v @ up to 12.5amps. I'm hoping to keep to 18awg wire, and plan on running the driver at half power, 300 watts. Would this wire be ideal?
