Re: Home assistant control for dimming grow lights constant current driver.

The dim circuit on the MW driver provides its own current, so all you need to do is open and close the connection between the dim + and dim - wires with a PWM signal. You can do it with an optocoupler and resistor as I mentioned above, or with transistors as you've stated. Use the pi to provide PWM...

Re: Home assistant control for dimming grow lights constant current driver.

I ended up answering this in comments on YouTube. I’ll paste in my reply: “ That's an easy one on those drivers since they supply the 0-10V on those wires themselves. I did mine with a PC817 optocoupler. PWM/ground from your microcontroller goes to the 2 input pins of the optocoupler (don't forget ...

Re: LEDs and Driver

I ended up building a larger light. I have decided to get another strip to add to bring the total to 6 and run it a bit cooler. Its really just for over wintering some outdoor plants Here is the build 5 x BXEB-L1120Z-50S4000-C-C3 (the new Gen 3 thrives at 4 feet) 1 x XLG-240-H-AB 1 x potentiometer I...

Re: LEDs and Driver

@herbie, Sorry for the delay. Just seeing this. The topography was wrong. You want AC DC, this one was DC DC, I think I found a laptop charger that fit the specs that I was eventually able to use, but its much simpler to not use a DC DC boost transformer Hey @bestinc ! I'm new to this game, trying t...

Re: LEDs and Driver

@TEKNIK sorry to be a bother but you're too good of a resource hahha what are your thoughts on the above? I'm still waking up so I need more coffee but your wiring and math looks right to me. I will say it again that using high voltage running strips in series so the voltage exceeds the rated outpu...

Re: LEDs and Driver

I am finally looking at building a larger 4x2 for a variety of plants to overwinter inside. I am looking at the below

6 x ‎BXEB-L1190U-40E3000-C-C3‎

powered by

HLG-185H-C1400B

and wired like attached. Did I make any mistakes? Can I do it better?

Thank you!

Re: LEDs and Driver

Well I ended up doing this to get my feet wet

BXEB-L0560Z-50E2000-C-B3 x2

LED DRVR CC BOOST 12-43V 1.05A (I realized my mistake after)

Still want to build out a larger one but I have time before summer is over. Probably going to add 2 more lights to it because why not?

Re: Living Room Grow Light Bar for Houseplants (1st build)

Thanks, I look forward to it! I have the power supply and dimmer, and I'm expecting the light strips and heatsink any day now. But it will probably take me a little while to get around to picking up the wood and the rest of the bits and pieces. I'll post a photo and a parts list when I get it done. ...
