Recent Security Bulletin from HA

Recently received the security bulletin from HA and followed the instructions to update my core. Is there any way to know if you're using custom integrations? I don't think I am, but want to be sure. They say to check for the custom_components folder but I'm not sure where to check. LEDG , can you s...

Re: Emulating a Short-Cycle Timer

That was it! I made the change in the automation file to direct toward the switch I'm using and it's working! Took two clones, a peach ghost and a chocolate 7 pot, from my outdoor garden and got it set up and running. Also had some japanese mustard greens seeds laying around and started those. The s...

Re: Emulating a Short-Cycle Timer

Hey LEDG, experienced something with the setup that could use a change. If I switch the "Cycle pump" switch off mid-on cycle, it'll stay on indefinitely. Can we write a check into the script that will allow it to shut off mid cycle?

Re: Emulating a Short-Cycle Timer

Awesome! It works! Thanks so much. Learning many little things along the way. Another question for you about the rasp pi. I am running off of the GPIO on my Pi. Obviously it seems you and others like to use the esp boards since they're wifi and you can relocate them anywhere while leaving the Pi nea...

Re: Emulating a Short-Cycle Timer

Dude, thanks for taking the time to help me with this. "Helpers" are a new thing to me and this really helped me understand it a little more. I'm getting this error when I validate my configuration. Do you know how to troubleshoot it? Invalid config for [script]: not a valid value for dictionary val...

Emulating a Short-Cycle Timer

New here and have been following the recent videos by LEDG. I've installed HA on a Raspberry Pi 3, installed the recommended add ons (node-red, sambashare, file editor, Mosquito Broker and ESPhome), and set up remote access. Since doing that, I've been able to turn on/off an aero pump by adding in s...

Re: New to Automation, not to gardening

Do you have an updated affiliate link to the ESP32's you're using? The ones on your youtube are no longer available. I'm going to try and order my stuff attached to your affiliate links to help out as much as I can.

New to Automation, not to gardening

YO! Caught wind of LEDG on youtube and have watched every vid. I've always wanted to get into home automation and have never found anything that explains it like LEDG. Thanks! I'm an experienced gardener and have been growing exotic peppers and tomatoes outside for a while. I recently picked up an a...
