Re: Bought a light, good deal?

If somebody sells lights, and can't even tell you what the actual watts are, I'm not sure if I'd want to buy anything from them.

Re: LED strip reflector test

Just some musings on the topic here, When it comes down to it the test results are the test results and will tell you what's actually going on. BUT If you are using multiple strips, you should test with multiple strips. Multiple strips will have overlap. Also if you're growing in an enclosure you sh...

Re: 3 SqFt Build

So here is the finished (work in progress) product. Mounted on .063 aluminum sheet ( I would prefer .125, but this was free!) I goofed on the size. It's 24 x 15 in. I'll see once I get the ventilation in, but I think I am going to mout a 120mm fan about 1/4" above the light blowing straight down for...

Re: Series / Parallel Risk / Reward EB strips

Higher voltage can overcome the resistance of your body easier. You can touch both poles on a 12V car battery and not feel a thing (unless you are wet maybe) because it cannot overcome your bodies resistance to form a circuit. My the same toke, higher voltages can overcome the resistance of a damp s...

Re: Cheap 260w build

12v driver and 12v strips

You would have to run then all in parallel.

16 in parallel would by 12v 22.08 amps average.

Driver is 12v 21.67 amps, giving
1.35a per strip with 16 strips in parallel.

1.2a for 18 strips in parallel.

Re: Where to Buy Parts

For those that are lucky enough to still have one around, don't forget your local electronics supply store. I just got back from mine. Picket up some 20g wire by the foot, shrink tube, connectors, a pot and knob, rocker switch, and they had surplus 6' grounded 18g power cords for $2 and ungrounded f...

How to remove wire from connector.

I have this so light and want to remove the wires from the connector.

Any ideas?
I tried a small screwdriver to spread what looks like the little claps holding the sides of the wire, but no luck.

If any of you have some input for this i would aprecate it! I'm setting up a small 24"x18"x18-24"high space to veg some plants. I will grow out to about 12" before setting outside to flower. I have an existing light i used for seedlings, and some 24V CV drivers in 60w and 96w I would like to use. Li...
