I'm not sure but think that the photoboost strips have some red in them.
None were available when i did this build or I would have used them.
These strips have been working just fine though. Growth has been outstanding.

First build finished
Thanks to all the information posted on this forum I have completed my first build. The light incorporates 16 SL-B8V3N80LAWW strips and 2 HLG-320H-C1400B drivers. Running at around 500 watts. Time to grow some hot peppers! Thank you to those who replied to my questions here. I'm quite happy with the...

Re: Driver question
I've upped the build to 16 strips. Two sets of 8 wired in series. Here is the completed driver board. Made use of an old cutting board. Drivers are elevated off of board with spacers. Still waiting on overdue aluminum extrusions for the frame. ( Thanks UPS ) Will be growing Habanero, Peach Scotch Bo...

Re: Testing strips
Sounds good. The strips I have run at 22.4 volts so might be a challenge to find a driver but will look around.
Thanks for the help!

Re: Testing strips
Thanks for the reply!
One reason I wanted to test them individually was that if I ever had a failure in the finished fixture I'd want to be able to isolate which strip would be causing the problem.
( series wired 16 strips )

Testing strips
Doing my first build in a couple of days.
I'd like to test each strip before adhering to heatsinks. Wondering how I would go about it. Tried to measure continuity but no go.
Thanks!

Re: How to wire 8 strips in a HLG-320H-C1400B
I'm new but this video may help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfNYWuN7_cc Those strips are rated at 1800ma but that driver only delivers 1400ma so.... 1.4 x 24 x 8 = 268 watts if wired in series as shown in the video. Be aware that wiring those in series creates a 192 volt DC circuit. I'm using t...

Re: Driver question
Thanks for the reply!
I chose that driver because I believe its a constant current unit rated at the nominal amperage of the strips with enough voltage headroom.
I'm new so don't know how to optimize things perfectly. Erring on the side of caution.

Driver question
Hello all. First post here but have been lurking for a while soaking up as much information as I can before asking questions. I think I have the basics down on strip builds but just wanted to double check. The posts here have been incredibly helpful. I have a design using ( 8 ) SL-B8V3N80LAWW that I...
