Re: Meanwell HLG A type max wattage
That's a great question. From my understanding once the driver hits its maximum output in CV mode it will switch into CC mode. Of course 'A' type drivers are rumored to exceed their rated specs by a small but not insignificant amount so its entirely possible you can get 256watts from your HLG 240H 2...

How do you plan on dialing in 2.6 amps on that driver?

Using the potentiometers on that A type driver you can limit max voltage therefore limiting the current the boards will pull.

Royal Queen Northern Lights Auto gets my thumbs up. Fast and great yield.
00 Seeds Cheese Berry Auto a bit slower and lower yield but amazing frosty, super strong buds.
Have tried a few autos now and these two stand out amongst the rest.
My 2c.

Re: Auto-build COB lamp - less watt then calculated?
Something isn't right here. Are you measuring voltage across a single cob? There shouldn't be over a volt of difference at 1.4A on identical cobs. How are you measuring circuit voltage? Voltage should DEFINITELY change if you are dimming the cob. Remove that dimmer. Or measure its resistance to chec...

Re: Led strip build (EB gen 2)
The driver will kick into constant current mode once you've put a full load on it. This driver has a 12-24v constant current region so you're good to go. Meanwell do have a 20v HLG320. But a 24v driver is more versatile ongoing. My 2c.

The 80cri colour spectrum looks pretty similar between Vero's and EB strips. Just use that.

Re: CMA3090 LED connecting to driver.
Google search for "Cree product characterization tool."
That will get you there.
Driver selection all depends on your desired current and if your needs will change over time. An ELG-240-48A would be a good place to start with four COB's. But again, there are any number of answers to your question.

Re: CMA3090 LED connecting to driver.
At 48v - the Cree Tool tells me those chips want 2.7A. Thats your problem chap. LP series driver has no CC mode.
