Re: Kiasmos project (Open-source automation w/ RPI)
I've completed my integration with raspberry pi and openhab. Modules include: - LED Light Dimmer ($10) - Fan dimmer ($20) - Temperature, humidity, light sensor / data-logging ($10) - Power consumption monitoring (Sonoffs, so anywhere from $6 - $20 depending on what you get) - Temperature-adjusted fa...

Re: Time lapse?
There are different opinions on coco. Someone thinks it should always be kept moist, others think a dry-wet cycle is needed. Anyway I am interested in trying capacitive soil moisture sensors in coco since it is more similar to soil rather than plain hydro I imagine this will also depend on the stag...

Re: New POW R2 from Sonoff.
I just learned these guys have an ESP8266 inside so we can hack it open, add a wireless dimmer and create our own interface / logic. Stay tuned!

Re: Time lapse?
Plenty of guides on how to do that! That's not hard to do. As soon as I stop being broke I have an order ready on aliexpress with plenty of sensors and arduinos to be implemented in my grow and get fancy charts! I already have the sensors, including a few which I doubt I'd be using. If you'd like s...

Re: Automated control system - any experience or directions?
I did it! I got a dimming mechanism working off an arduino, now allows me to dim the lights automatically based on temp, schedule the lights, etc. Very excited! Someone on reddit guided me on using a MOSFET in parallel with a 100k resistor and control it with the arduino's PWM. Here's what they wrot...

Re: Time lapse?
I'm not familiar with any single-purchase product that'll do this for you but the raspberry pi method is basically plug-and-play (and copying / pasting code). I just finished mine, take a look here: https://projects.raspberrypi.org/en/projects/timelapse-setup I already had a raspberry pi zero doing ...

Re: Automated control system - any experience or directions?
I'm in the middle of gathering all my materials so don't have anything running yet but I've been doing a lot of research on using wifi to dim the led drivers (this thread has helped me a lot, thanks everyone for posting all these resources.) So from what I gathered, in order to dim the LED driver we...

Re: New grower, new LED setup questions
Actually I figured out the different model numbers (Samsung doesn't make it easy on us!) and looks like using the calculator here http://ledgardener.com/parallel-strip-build-tool/ I would be pushing it with the HLG-320 and better off with the HLG-480?

New grower, new LED setup questions
I'm on a high just absorbing all of this information lately, thanks a ton to everyone that's helped so far! Based on my current light budget, here's what I'd like to put together: 5 x Samsung FB22B https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/samsung-semiconductor-inc/SI-B8U521B20WW/1510-2226-ND/662401...
