Heating in the winter
I planned on starting a new grow cycle a month ago, then thought I'd put it off until winter wanes, but now the itch is getting irresistibile. And I've been wondering, how do you handle heating a grow tent in the winter? Keep in mind I grow in a basement, so the temperatures are relatively stable, a...

Re: Photos Being Used to sell on Alibaba
That's an Alibaba supplier I will definitely not be doing any business with.

I don't particularly like his instagram account either. Given that all such brands have production made in the same handful of factories -- that you can source from personally -- the only real thing that sets them apart is customer service and care: answering questions and helping you out if things ...

Re: Samsung LM301B Strips are for sale!
If anybody wants to buy me a kW of LM561C and another kW of LM301B I promise to run a rigorous double-blind side-by-side experiment. For the sake of science, you know
(For the record, the newly available 301 is only at 80CRI, and ideally I'd get the 561 at 90CRI.)

Everybody in this field sources from Alibaba, have no doubt about it. I doubt there's any major LED factory outside of Shenzhen for that matter.secondhandname wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 7:06 pmi dunno.. i dont trust this guy. Re: Overwhelmed with options
I have the Roleadro fixture. It isn't terrible, and having everything ready off-the-shelf is definitely a consideration. But the fans... At the best case they just give out that low annoying hum old computers used to put out. And yes, it can also get worse. (And when it's suddenly silent, that would...

The 2700/4000 mix is also an interesting choice. Not sure what heatsink he wants for it; assuming he's going to drive it with a reasonable amperage it should be under the 50W mark and just be fine on their own / thin aluminum sheet to hold them together. The optics is an interesting twist.

Re: Drip Irrigation in coco, run-off necessary?
As a fellow coco grower I'd like to suggest you look into watering with Blumat Tropf. They're sort of genius: they allow the plant to regulate its own watering schedule. And the plants love them. No need to have any run-off using them. I've had them scale up with a single plant from 0.2L/day all the...

Re: C99 + Fruit Punch | Coco+perlite | cob
They're looking real good. I've got a question for you... I dropped one of those Star Pupil fem seeds into some coco+perlite last night. Since coco is inert, do the seeds themselves have the necessary store of nutrients to sprout? If so, at what point will that energy reserve run out? When do you s...

Re: Lm561c 2ft strips design *help*
COBs are cheaper, but require a substantial heatsink. The heatsink itself isn't cheap, and depending on where you live together with the added weight to shipping it can become 40% of the total expense. Strips are pricey, but once you factor in heatsinks (& their shipping) the difference becomes sign...
