I had to drill and tap so many holes that I can't even count them all.

All I can say is patience is your best friend.
Take your time with it and use drill stand if you can.

That's a bit overpriced in my opinion.... €25 for 50cm strip with few LEDs... It looks like to me there is only like 5 blues and 5 reds... I would rather go for star mounted XP-E on a heatsink. I'm just curious... Can you use one 100k 'stereo linear taper potentiometer' to control two HLGs? There is actually two soldering points on it makes it perfect choice I guess. also Is it possible to use this potentiometer just to control one driver when only one connected? Fasteners are not that expensive. Can find many on eBay etc.

There is also profile 1640 which is just about same good for thicker strips...
