Re: Let's Help J.R.R. Build His LM561C Strips Project!
Question 1: why not simply evenly space them? I've seen once a person mention spacing strips in a logarithmic manner, but besides looking interesting I failed to see the advantage in that. Evenly spacing is a fine concept, but I need to know the width of the strips' beam so I don't waste light by p...

Re: Let's Help J.R.R. Build His LM561C Strips Project!
Hi all, I'm making headway on my 4' x 4' build, using LEDG's 4-foot LT-FB24B (288 LED/double row) design. I received my 45' heatsinks today (which look awesome) and received my HLG-480H-48A driver , but my light strips are still a few weeks out. I'd like to get the heatsinks/frame ready, so I can ju...

Re: 4x4 Samsung F-Series 2′ build
Awesome info, s3ntual! I really appreciate it. I'm also considering just wiring up those mini male/female connectors/plugs...one male coming off the driver, and two females, one each going into the 3000k and 5000k circuits. What's the purpose in your design using three separate zones, rather than ju...

Re: 4x4 Samsung F-Series 2′ build

Re: Found - good value aluminium sheets/heatsink for mounting LED strips
I ordered some 2" wide by 1" tall 1/8" thick aluminum U-channel from allmetalsinc.com. It was pretty reasonable and right in stock, cut to length and shipped fairly quickly. It's real nice stuff. I just got the frame assembled for my build and I'll be trying to figure out some wiring this weekend i...

Re: UK - Found - good value aluminium sheets/heatsink for mounting LED strips
This might be a very good find. Thermal transfer is what these are for, so one would think they are good for our purpose. EDIT: THIS MIGHT BE TOO THIN, BUT I'LL LOOK FOR OTHER OPTIONS. We have these in the states...here's a link I found after a brief search. 4.5 inches wide x 4 feet long...so for $2...

Re: How much light / what type of light spectrum for mother plants?
...Any thoughts on wattage? Same amount as normal cycles or a tad higher/lower? You just need to keep her alive and healthy. It's not really necessary to hit her with high wattage during the dormant stage; you probably DON'T want explosive growth in the mother room, except perhaps a week or two bef...

Can't you use just a switch? LOL...this was the same question I had, buried up there in my original marathon post! I'm certainly not an electrical engineer, but I can follow directions or install parts that have been pre-selected. I will switch these so seldom, it wouldn't be a huge deal keeping se...

Re: Let's Help J.R.R. Build His LM561C Strips Project!
I am curious to see a 5000/6500k veg I also would be curious about this. I wonder how much difference it will make. I'm trying to decide between 3k or 4-5k for my next light. Alright you guys...I ordered my F-Series, 4'-288 diode strips for this build; 4 in 3000k, and 2 in 5000k. I'm thinking I mig...

Re: Feasible Combining Veg And Flowering Strips On Same Fixture?
Well, so I ordered 4 of the 4'-288 diode strips in 3000k, and 2 of the 4'-288 diode strips in 5000k. I have some lead time to kill, so I'll see if I want to mount these to the same fixture or just get another driver...but I'm leaning towards the former. Either way, I'll use nuts and bolts to secure ...
