Re: Pulse watering with Sonoff

I just set one channel of my Sonoff 4ch Pro to do this for my water pump and will try it out today! I've been hand watering for the last few months and only just bought the pump. It's a pretty standard 240vac aquarium pump. Pond pumps can also work. It really depends on how big your reservoir is and...

Re: New POW R2 from Sonoff.

Just realized this POW R2 has no default power state when resuming from a power outage. SO if you use this for controlling your lights, bware, they will stay off when power returns. Which sucks... This is probably a firmware limitation, not hardware, so you could probably get around this with third...

Re: New POW R2 from Sonoff.

I am trying to put my new sonoff 4ch in action but I can't register it through the app! I had no problem with 2 sonoff th10 but with the 4ch the app doesn't go further at "registering xxxxx" I wanna use several light sensors and temp/humidity modules. Vpd monitoring is a must Hmm, that's strange. I...

Peltier Light Cooling

I've seen a few cheap Peltier coolers around the internet and it's got me wondering if it might be worthwhile for active LED cooling on a small scale? I know they're not terribly efficient, but it seems they work fairly well for computers, so perhaps they would work for small grow areas? Any thought...

Re: New POW R2 from Sonoff.

True, they're not great if you want something battery powered. Wi-Fi sure is easy though. I've already got one of my boards with a temperature probe for my light's heatsink and a temperature/humidity sensor at canopy level. I wrote my own code with Arduino IDE even though the last time I tried C/C++...

Re: Advice needed for Perpetual Grow Light Set up

Judging by your username, you're in New Zealand. Your best bet is probably ordering strips from Cutter in Australia. They're a reputable distributor, and you shouldn't have to worry about customs. I built a light recently using the Cutter strips of Cree LEDs because they're basically the best value ...

Re: I want to build an LED light of 1000w (First time here)

I doubt you really need quite 1000w. Without doing any watt/sq. ft calculations, my guess is you could go with two ~400w lights for a total of 800w. Reasoning behind doing two lights is one large light is going to be ridiculously big and difficult to move around and hang up. Once you start adding th...

Re: Quantum board with a line going dim

A cheap 10 dollar dimmer with suspect soldering as my son in law put it. It was the dimmer as soon as I unplugged it the light worked great even with a line dimmed. The good news is they are sending me another board and I will find a better dimmer. The ends were cold soldered that is possible too t...

Re: HLD driver help wiring the dimmer

I just saw these kits from Meiju on Alibaba, and it looks like you can use that dimmer somehow. It hooks up to the leads from the driver on one end, but the photo doesn't show where the other end goes. Maybe it's to 240v mains to power the device? If that's the case, I would advise extreme caution ...

Re: New POW R2 from Sonoff.

Those are the boards I have, Grower! They work really well, and onboard Wi-Fi is really helpful. I'm thinking about controlling pumps and fans as well, but for those I might just use a Sonoff 4CH Pro for simply turning them on and off. In any case, I ordered a few modules off eBay that I'm hoping I ...
