Re: First diy setup, need opinions & help. Please.

After waiting about a month for digi to restock the 3k fb24b's ..I got tired of waiting and simply grabbed the 3500ks. Made 2 seperate frames roughly 2x4s to go inside a 4x4 space. Now here's my confusion. I built each frame around the led strip calculator as follows 5 fb24b strips per fixture, driv...

Yes. With 20 strips, they will run cooler, you'll be able to move the light closer to the canopy. But with your setup, I think option 1 would be fine. Good luck man.
Many thanks.

Re: First diy setup, need opinions & help. Please.

It really all depends how much your electricity costs, how hard of a time you will have getting rid of the heat, and how much headroom you have for the lights.. If you have a good exhaust fan and electricity isn't too expensive, running the strips at 50% definitely won't create as much heat as a 10...

Re: First diy setup, need opinions & help. Please.

Thank you for taking the time to put that together. I'm probably gonna replicate the single row F series build from the build page for 4x4. It's not the double row that I really wanna try but looks to give similar output. Only thing has me stumped is ..the build has the hlg-480h-48a Driver listed ....

Re: First diy setup, need opinions & help. Please.

I think you're going to want to wire in parallel, otherwise your voltage will be very high ! I made a light that is approximately equivalent to one half of what you're looking for, but I used 6 of the 2' F series double row- same number of diodes as the 4' strips. I'm running it soft- around 300 wa...

Re: First diy setup, need opinions & help. Please.

Since the 2ft & 4ft F series double rows are unavailable is it feasible to go with 16 of these https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/samsung-semiconductor-inc/SI-B8V261560WW/1510-2217-ND/6624001 I'll just pay the $55 dollar increase for 16 vs 4 4ft. Rather than take the chance on the 4ft strips ...

Re: First diy setup, need opinions & help. Please.

You should at least use aluminium angle. The cooler you run the strips, the more effecient they run, and the more usable light (less heat, and more usable photons) you have. I would not use steel. Arrow has 15 of the 4' EB gen 2's, and 172 of the 2' EB gen 2's both 3000k. Just make sure you get the...
