Re: Multimeter Setup To Check/Set Current In 6-Strip Build

If you have adjusted your amps on the Io dial to only use 6amps then thats what will be used. All meanwell HLG drivers are constant current drivers, not sure who came up with the term constant voltage drivers but understand they are voltage limited drivers but still constant current drivers like ev...

Re: Multimeter Setup To Check/Set Current In 6-Strip Build

This is likely the most misunderstood element of CV drivers. If it’s not putting out rated voltage, it’s because the strips are pulling all the current from the driver and the strips are dragging the driver down to that voltage. It’s not a flaw, it’s how it’s supposed to work. It’s why they’re cons...

Yeah, it's an HLG-480H-48A. Could it be an issue that my Constant Voltage driver never gets up to the specified voltage of the driver?

Re: Multimeter Setup To Check/Set Current In 6-Strip Build

Okay, I got the light all set-up, and it looks great! Thanks LEDG/members for all the help! A couple of observations: The voltage of my 480H never gets past @ 46 volts even with both pots wide open. I set it to 5.8 amps like TEKNIK advised, and also capped it @5.9. Looking at LDEG work his pots in v...

Re: Stealth grow 1,5x1,5x4

You don't provide a unit of measurement so I'm going to assume this is a 1.5ft long x 1.5ft wide x 4ft tall space... Not sure what type of plants you plan on growing but that's not a lot of area], I would just get a single cob, or preferably a logic puck, heat-sink and 100W meanwell driver. Mindles...

Re: Multimeter Setup To Check/Set Current In 6-Strip Build

Yeah, I just caught today that the 600 has two outputs. I appreciate the information, as I have been stressing over it. My light came out pretty good; I'm really happy with it. That 1-inch extrusion really cleans-up the lines of the frame...so much better than angle iron. I'll do a build thread, or ...

Re: Multimeter Setup To Check/Set Current In 6-Strip Build

Just took a quick look at that video, I didn't know he had done one on multi meters... Did you check out the 13:10 mark, where he's talking about how parallel, daisy-chained systems are a PITA to get current measured? Where did I go wrong in my thinking? I got these HinFlux strips from Digikey the ...

Re: Multimeter Setup To Check/Set Current In 6-Strip Build

Disconnect the + from your Led driver and attach one of the leads to it. Then attach the other lead to your + wiring that runs to your fixture Turn your dial to 10amp it looks like its grey in the picture and then power up the light to check your current draw That's easier than I thought. I must ha...

Re: Multimeter Setup To Check/Set Current In 6-Strip Build

It's quite high-theque. And yes, there's no DC clamp. :/

Thanks!
