Re: strip build to replace DE1000 ?

I run 2 of that exact set up over a 4x8 space and I am very happy with the results after one run. As long as you understand the inherent differences between led and hid lighting I think it would be a good alternative, I hate the word replacement when talking lighting.

Re: Mounting drivers to wall

I wouldn't mount a driver on anything flammable. They dont get hot enough under normal operation to ignite the plywood but anything electrical has the possibility of causing a fire.

A piece of sheet metal or an electrical junction box is worth the investment.

You will sell exactly 0 of your trash Mars hydro lights by posting on these forums. This is a place where knowledge is shared freely for the greater good. Stop wasting your time and move on to some other forum where you can try to rip off kids who dont know any better.

Re: Growers choice LEDs,are they as good as advertised?

Your seriously saying never diy on a diy forum? Mars may be making decent lights these days but that has not always been the case and they have historically led the charge for much of the misinformation about led lights. Truth in advertising is something I value and I'll never trust mars or any of t...

Re: Lens material

Thanks for the reply, I wish I had known about the heatsinks with lens holders built in when I put this light together. I was thinking if I keep the lens off the pcb a bit it would be better for airflow and cooling I hadn't considered the reflection aspect. Off to look for sheets of poly carb, the p...

Lens material

Hi, I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I am interested in adding a lens to my strip build to protect the diodes and I wanted to know the pros and cons of different materials. I was planning on using a square sheet of acrylic attached to the frame roughly 1/2 an inch below the diodes but am o...

660nm strips

Is anyone making a strip that has only 660nm diodes preferably 1" wide by 44" or 22" long?

Re: F series gen 3 build

More baby steps, I got one half of the fixture wired. Wagos to spit the negatives and slid neatly into the frame with rubber grommets for the penetrations. 20180821_231817.jpg 20180821_204838.jpg 20180821_202005.jpg I should get the other fixture wired and the panel connectors soldered and mounted t...

Re: F series gen 3 build

Dont worry I will be recording current and temps when it's all done, assuming it doesn't explode when I flip the switch.

Hopefully I'll take the time to put it all on a nice little spreadsheet at different voltages.

Re: F series gen 3 build

Second set of resistors wired to terminal blocks and resistor sets wired to a male panel connector. The terminal blocks wont be bolted down until I have the outputs connected. I also want to make some spacer bars to raise them off the back of the box for better airflow. 20180815_221304.jpg 20180815_...
