Re: 4x6 bridgelux build questions

Thank you very much for the replies, I feel much more comfortable now. I didn't mean to come across as unappreciative or anything like that. I spent a couple weeks researching this build(reading what knowledgable people post) when I should have been taking the time to actually learn. I greatly appre...

Re: 4x6 bridgelux build questions

So strips, heat sinks, drivers, wagos and double sided tape ordered. I presented my build to a family member with a electrical engineering degree and background in led design. I had hoped to impress him with my design and see if I could glean any tips from him on clean wiring. What ended up happenin...

Re: 4x6 bridgelux build questions

They will be mounted outside with a fan blowing over them. That's why I was b's so I can put the pots on the inside.

Re: 4x6 bridgelux build questions

With more diodes overall (and/or newer more efficient diodes) you would be able to run less watts more efficiently into the same overall light output, potentially. I think that's most of the key with that. But other than that can you up to bigger AC with headroom? I also noticed you said you're run...

Re: 4x6 bridgelux build questions

That's my issue, no exhaust. I run ac and co2 in a sealed room. I do have an exhaust that kicks on if the room reaches 90.

Re: 4x6 bridgelux build questions

You can calculate the ratio between cost of strips and cooling, so if strips cost 15$ and cooling 15$, you always have the choice of just halving heat by doubling strips. That's kind of my concern, say I am running 800w of led now and I am fighting to control heat. Would it be less heat generated i...

Re: 4x6 bridgelux build questions

I was going to order chips tonight but i cant kick this diy bug and really am in no hurry so a little more planning time for me. i had an idea for liquid cooling strips to control heat in the grow room. i am sure these strips run cool but they still put out heat like any thing else. currently my roo...

Re: 4x6 bridgelux build questions

The minimum order for the 3000k is 100 strips. You can't just order 24. That driver will work with 24 strips. It would drive each strip at about .475a or 475mA. Which should give you about 420w total. Maybe more depending on voltage loss. That sounds like a pretty sweet build. Ok, new plan order 48...

Re: 4x6 bridgelux build questions

Ok so the plan is to get 24 strips now 3500k https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/7907661 Then add 24 more 3000k later when they become available. I was going to pick up 2 of these drivers and split them in half so running 12 on each. Then once I have all 48 chips use 24 chips on each driver. h...

Re: 4x6 bridgelux build questions

Just to be clear you are suggesting 14 strips in a 3x4 running at 50% or 28 running at 25%? I thought I was nuts with 24 in my cart, seems like I underestimated how soft these things can be run. If I run them that low I might be able to get away with a 3x4 sheet of aluminum rather than heatsinks ti ...
