You're confusing AC input current and DC output current.
ELG-240-36 is rated 1.5A at 230V AC.
Thank you!!!! That clears it up.

Please help: Question about amperage, drivers & light timers/controllers

Hey everyone, hope everyone's grows are going well! I was hoping someone can help with this question because I'm fairly ignorant when it comes to electronics. I've had a 240-volt circuit installed so I can use the ELG series drivers at 100% for my quantum boards. In this new space, I will have twent...

Re: ELG vs HLG

For me the main difference between ELG and HLG is that ELG drivers are dimmable to off. Really? That's odd because if you look at the datasheet below, in the "current adj. range" section, it says it only reduces it by 50%. Have you experienced different? https://www.meanwell.com/webapp/product/sear...

Re: 480H-54 collecting dust.

frankly, better customer service. Good luck getting a response from HLG if you have a problem. What? HLG is consistently praised for their customer service. They've been experiencing some growing pains but they still rock. I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you there. I have asked them...

Re: 480H-54 collecting dust.

If I were you, I would get four of these boards with heat sinks from Atreum. They are exactly 54 volts so you won't run into any problems there. And, it will be a little cheaper than HLG, but same quality, and, frankly, better customer service. Good luck getting a response from HLG if you have a pro...

Re: ELG vs HLG

I sure do hope that the ELG 240 c1750 can power 4 QB132 from HLG. I just clicked home both things and realized that I I screwed up the second I did it. Go impulse control eh? Any who, is there any chance that this will even power up? Can I perhaps make it work by removing some diodes? Really thankf...

Re: New Quantum board QB96 V2 elite. from HLG. Help to select driver

One of them can cover more than the qb288. One qb96 elite is almost twice as poweful. It is about the same as two qb288s, however, the coverage is different. 240 watts coming through one board as opposed to two qb288s for that wattage.

Re: ELG for 4x QB132, did I screw up?

I would say that they would not work, I mean all four. Three should work just fine. I don't like running the QB 132 at 60 watts, I like to be able to get the full 75 wants out of them and then some. So it would be better to go with a 300 or 320 watt driver that's dimmable if you want them running at...

Re: ELG vs HLG

Yeah, if you want the elg to run at 100% you're going to have to use it with 220 volts. The ELG looked very enticing to me until I learned this. I mean, I have 220 volts also, but it would be a pain in the ass to try to use the dryer circuit which is all the way across the house. I went with the LRS...

Re: QB 132 driver assistance.

The LRS-350-36 will work just fine with 4 boards in parallel. Even if one disconnects for whatever reason, these boards can take 4 times the rated wattage without burning up. See LEDgardeners qb288 torture test.
