ELG vs HLG
Is there any specific reason to choose a HLG driver over an ELG? When I look at the test reports the ELG seem more powerful? Example: ELG 240-24A has a reported maximum current of 12.33A while it's only 10.845 for the HLG version. Does it hurt the driver in any way to run at max possible current? HL...

Re: Meanwell HLG A type max wattage
Ouch that's a bit scary. This means you can't rely on the driver to limit current even though it shouldn't be adjustable to more than 5.72A? I'm looking into this because I'm considering a 42V driver for Samsung Q Series instead of a 48V. I'm at around 44V on the calculator (depending on the target ...

Meanwell HLG A type max wattage
Can you exceed max stated wattage for the A types like HLG 240h 24a? It's supposed to be adjustable to a max of 25.6V and max amps is 10. Does that mean it will be possible to draw 10A at 25.6V?

Re: Samsung Q series - characteristics.
That would mean better potential for delivering heat to the heatsinks? I wonder if aluminum channels can do the trick or if purposemade heatsinks need to be employed.

Re: Samsung Q series - characteristics.
Yeah I was comparing it to Q series and the specs for the diode itself

Re: Samsung Q series - characteristics.
You pick the voltage bin and other parameters (I’d go “Typical”), then adjust the current yourself with the slider below. The tool will spit your info out. Thanks - it makes total sense now:) If you want to be able to max them out I think you need to get a HLG-185H-48, a HLG-150H-48 would be decent...

Re: ZEUS 308 XT x2 in parallel with ELG-240-42A-3Y
I think you will be in constant current region, with a voltage of around 39.3 and effect of 112W each for a total of 224W at the board and around 242W at the wall given a driver efficacy of 92.5%. Pretty close to their max. I got to these numbers by extrapolating the info from their webpage - better...

Re: Samsung Q series - characteristics.
Thanks all that helped a lot:) I think the calculator is somewhat flawed though because when you change between minimum, typical and maximum voltage under "general data" the current doesn't change, but voltage does. This doesn't make any sense I think? I'm considering building a light with 4x LT-QB2...

Re: Samsung Q series - characteristics.
Thanks! I think that must mean 5 series in parallel if the 180mA max of the diode is the base for the 900mA max of the strip?

Samsung Q series - characteristics.
I'm considering getting my feet wet with LED and I've been looking at the Samsung Q series. I've been looking around for how voltage corresponds to current with these but can't seem to find anything except for the data sheet, that only specifies min, typ and max values and these seem somewhat confus...
