Hacks to support overweight colas?
Well, two things happened in my tent in the past 48 hours: 1. The roots managed to grow into the dripper of a blumat carrot in an attempt of the plant to commit suicide. Hopefully it was thwarted in the nick of time. It wouldn't be any more than 48h, probably more like 24h, but the plant drinks so m...

Re: Hydro System Recommendations
COGr (veg a+b, flower a+b) is the relatively cheap. I don't go through much more than €40 or so of those per grow cycle. The nutrients Canna sells which supposedly help keep the roots nice and well (enzyme, rhizome, boost) is where it gets more expensive, adding €120+ per grow cycle. What those actu...

Re: Making a custom brand SMD grow panel
I have a cob and like it but honestly smd seems better for me because they are less of a point source of light and the heat generated is concentrated too. Neither of which is nice when plants grow close. My cob is good though for small cacti. On ebay especially from asia i have no idea which ones a...

Re: Hydro System Recommendations
I guess I'm also just a bit lucky. Mixing nutrients carefully I never had the formation of salts, which could cause blocks. I started with General Hydroponics, but wasn't terribly satisfied. Canna is now working great for me. Don't think I'll be switching to a third unless I hear of another company ...

Re: Hydro System Recommendations
main way to fight it is flush valves on the main runs and flushing the lines regularly... I haven't run a salt line thru mine yet, but it has no problem with kelp and teas etc... warm water also helps when flushing main line. How do you go about flushing when it's all connected to a rez? I've never...

Credit goes to LG! And while I'm at it with apologizing for mistakes, I think I owe HLG a second apology for previously doubting their collaboration with Samsung. I'm very happy for them (still can't afford it though), and I'm excited about the possibilities this opens up for large-scale R&D in the ...

You're right. Sorry for the confusion.sdfoster22 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 15, 2018 3:25 amYou plant pointy side up? It should go down. That's where the tap root comes out.
Re: Advice
I thought I might as well add how I do it. I soak in water overnight, and in the morning place the seed in a "root riot" cube. (I'm guessing rockwool will do the same, I just don't like touching that stuff.) Pointy side pointing up, about half a centimeter in, just enough to cover it and make sure i...

Re: A Bunch of Seeds
Any tips on setting p the Blumats would be appreciated. Do exactly what the manual says. Off the top of my head: Soak the carrot for a while, cap it under water to make sure there's no air. When you put it in the soil -- wet to the point you want it (in case of coco soak it) -- start from 100% open...
Re: Advice
I've had seeds take up to 7 days before they started germinating. Give it a little longer before giving up on them.
