Re: Wire gauge and wagos consideration?

What driver are you using? The amount of current will determine your gauge requirement. The Wagos are a more solid connection and are better for parallel wiring - the strip connectors aren't great. If it's all in series though, the strip connectors are fine. Hey LEDG, Using HLG-480H-C1400A in serie...

Re: first post and first strip build questions

the more contact between the two aluminum surfaces the better it will protect and transfer heat. say you use 20mm tape on those 40mm strips. you center it so there's 10mm on each side without the tape touching... that 20mm will be so much hotter then the center of the strip and seeing how they are ...

edit: nevermind those are in inches, my u channels werent ripoffs :P as for the square tubes, could i just use pvc and screw the channels/sinks onto the pvc instead as a frame/mount? lastly, in terms of thermal tape, thanks for clarifying. if i overlap the tape a bit (20mmx2 = 40mm, but i only have ...

Re: Series wiring

Those strips tend to run at 12V or 24V. You’ll need to figure out what voltage each length runs at and how much current it draws in order to figure out the proper driver. The one you’ve linked won’t work. help me also with this... remind me how we work backwards to figure out the ma.. the data shee...

Re: 5000k, 4000k or 3000k spectrums?

I built a COB light fixture using five 3500k citizen 1212's. I had been using 2 store bought LED lights with more watts, but since I installed the new COB's, the 3500 are my favorite. Plus I do not have that funny red color coming from my space! Having a few grows under my belt, I am sold on the 35...

Re: F and Q series test build

Yup, this is doable. Get an HLG-80H-48 and you'll be able to run the F series at max for testing. You can then wire the Q series strips in series and run them on the same driver to hit 48V and you'll be able to max those as well. Just be careful and make sure you dim the driver to start, then slowl...
