Discuss COBs or any other types of LEDs that don’t fit the other categories (Cree, Citizen, Migro, etc.).

Interesting development for the cob game. 5% increase is great considering how well these perform at the 100w range. I can't wait to see the raw data from his readings.

Cheers!

you must not of seen a blacksail cannon 😄😄 dude using 240/320 w mean wells on a single citizen clu-058!! 😄😄

edit; totally forgot to say I think it's idiotic! 240w for a 2x2' maybe 2.5 x 2.5' ( I've seen par numbers from a buddy.. it's more 2x2) for $350 us.. when my 135w HLG quantum board kit can do the same thing for almost half the cost!! ( I forget what v2 135w kit costs.. maybe $187? I'm running v1 still 😁)

320W from a single LED, this is silly, but also sorta cool in its simplicity :)

Led: €45ish
Heatsink (actually having a hell of a time finding a 300W-ish heatsink like that of that size, but I am estimating €70),
Driver €95,
Calculating €25 for the rest, cables, thermal paste etc.
(That would be ultra-easy to build), €220-€230

Ok, more expensive than I thought because you need high-end parts..but still silly. Of course, shitty spread etc

2.48 umol/j at system level @ 100w, with lens, migro claims.

Nowhere near.

Ill post some maps of the cxm22 gen4 next week vs an actual 2.48 umol/j light.

I know the guy in the video, Tom Jory.
I will send him an email to get some samples from him to test for you guys.
Can you tell me model numbers and spectrums you want me to test, also let me know the currents you will be using them at.
Luminus should remain top of the range for horticultural lighting for quite a few years to come because they get first pick of the semiconductors.
There is no profits in the COB game for me but I am happy to test a few so you can see real performance
