1. Yes they are cheap and more common to be available now of both the 80 and 90 cri.

2. I switched out a few lights from the gen 2 strips to all gen 3 strips without any issues. Be sure your forward Voltage on the strips matches the driver and I'd think you'd be good.

I was thinking to add some deep red COB but I've been getting good results with the Samsung spectrum.
