Just got finished putting together a unit of four 50 watt crees with a hlg 185h c1400b driver following the build on here. the lights come on but are really dim. the potentiometer does nothing so i took it off but that didn't effect the brightness. strangely after it's unplugged the lights stay on at the same intensity for 6 or 7 seconds.

How it's wired up:

Best to show how you wired it all up

Can you give the model number of the Cree led you used. You did these all in series right?

Have you double checked all the polarities? + to - among the cobs, and + to + and - to - to the driver

yep, brown is positive... i put a mark on the port of the cobb holder closest to the + sign. double checked too tho. if any of that was backward it just wouldnt have come on right?

Are the dim wires touching at all?

no... they're taped up. I think I'll just take the whole thing apart and put it back together again

I don't have time to check the data sheet but have you added up all the voltage totals for the cobs? Apart from a dodgy driver or dodgy wiring or connectors the only thing left is to ensure that the driver matches the LED's
