1x3000K + 1x4000k or just only 1 x 3500 K

Discuss COBs or any other types of LEDs that don’t fit the other categories (Cree, Citizen, Migro, etc.).

Hi,
some final thoughts before i order my new COB setup.
I only grow tomatoes and peppers so don't need the full lm power, i understand that higher CRI and spectrum would be more important.

Based on price and availability from digikey, i've identified two COB configurations that will suite my purpose.

1. Two smaller COBs V13C THRIVE that will be mounted on the same cooler next to each other, one at 3000K and the other at 4000K, BXRE-30S2001 + BXRE-40S2001 total power of ~42W
2. Only 1 larger COB V18C THRIVE at 3500K, BXRE-35S4001 total power of 40,2W

Both of the above options will have the similar power and efficiency according to the specs, the two smaller V13C are actually somewhat cheaper than one V18C but that does not matter much. Would a spectrum of 3000K + 4000K be better than only 3500K for my tomatoes?

I'll use 10 of these in a 8x3 space, 10 dwarf tomato plants and small peppers and herbs, each getting own light fixture which is individually height adjustable

I would just stick to a single colour, 3000k is fine for veg and flower.

I agree with TEKNIK 3000k is fine. 4000k is going to be fine too. I mostly grow peppers, tomatoes and herbs, and in my experience color temperature is not going to matter much. You can control the blooming stage with your nutrients. Just give your plants high phosphorus and low nitrogen fertilizer, and any color temperature will be fine.
