Bought 4 Cree COBs CXB3590 which I'm trying to run off batteries for portabilty reasons.
I need the cable to be 12meters long (~36 feet) and I dont want to run 4 separate wires. And I'm placing my constant current drivers close to the battery to go from 12volt -> 36volt.
This will allow for a smaller cable diameter. Used an online calc and came to 10mm2 or 7 AWG for a total of 500watts...
So my thinking is to wire in parallel and noticed a few older threads talking about fuses.. Looked for 36v rated fuses with a hold current of 3.5-4amp but only found trip current at about 7amps.
I guess if a single COB blows (36v 3.5amp) that current will be distributed to the other three COBs. So it wouldn't trip the fuse since only about an extra amp or 4.6amp would hit the other COBs.
Any idea how to fit all these pieces together...
