This is probably in another feed somewhere but I can't seem to find it: COB spacing.
I'm trying to draw blueprints for my new set up and I'm trying to figure out how to space the COB's. I'm going to run CLU048's 80CRI on HLG240 drivers. 15 COBS on 3 drivers for now and I have one prefabricated 250 watt led I'll mix in there for approximately 1000 watts total lighting. The space I plan to use is about 3' x 12'. I have some wiggle room there but that's what's going on. Throw me some ideas, let your imagination be my grow room!

so basically your lighting 4 3x3 spaces.. 250w per each space (270w LG's 30w per sqft number for a 3x3) so your right there.. common cob spacing is normally 10-12" apart..

few questions.. CLU 048 12-12? or 18-18? also what type of hlg240.. CC or CV. if CC what milliamp?
5 per 240 driver seems a odd count to me.. but I haven't played around with cobs in awhile.

http://ledgardener.com/cob-led-driver-selection-tool/ LG's cob CC tool is helpful figuring numbers per driver also 😁

CLU048 12-12. HLG CC 1400. I'm not totally certain but I think running 5 cobs at lower power will be a bit easier on the cob load, i dont want to lose efficiency by blasting power out of 3-4. 5 is a stretch but it's what comes with the kit I plan to buy from Britelite on Alibaba.

Based on the calculator, I'm right on track with the 240HLG 1400.

Will you build three separate fixtures for each driver and set of 5 cobs?

And how will your existing light fit into it all? In the middle? Or at the end? If it has a different spectrum its worth considering.

I currently have the pre-fab led and custom cob. The custom cob is a 4 foot run with 4 cobs. I'm ordering 2 more kits that will be 5 cobs. I might just reassemble everything. That's what I'm trying to figure out . I think I need to just order up some graphing paper and blueprint some designs. If I run (3) 3'x4' sections then I need to figure out the cob placement. I might have to order up 1+ heat sink and 1+ cob/holder/lens so I have 15 cobs + my pre-fab. I'm just trying to spitball ideas...I like the (3) 3'x4' idea.

that's why the 5 seemed odd to me.. I was looking at 18-18's mainly.... 😄

yeah your right on track then with 12-12's and 1400ma.
