I have a 200 watt cxb3590 light will 4 cobs, should I add another 50 watt cob in the middle?

I'm finishing my first grow with this light here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/CXB3590-200W-C ... 3d5b96a713 , not sure how much will be the yield but it looks like it isn't gonna be that much. The driver will push another 50 watt cob (HLG 185h c1400b) but will it make the whole thing less efficient? Will it increase my yield? Is it worth the $?

The harder to max you run your driver, the more efficient it will get. The softer you run your leds, the more efficient they will get.

Adding one cob will not make much difference though, you can calculate how many % your current would fall. I'm not sure about numbers, but saw someone claiming that adding two times more modules (cutting current to half) would be 10% more efficient. Someone else claimed 20%. Perhaps someone here can actually give real figures for that. I'm sure a simulator for your product could give a better estimate.

If you have uneven lighting, adding modules should make it more even, and perhaps allow you to run the light closer, both because of more even coverage, and because they would run a bit cooler.

But if it was your first grow, perhaps something else was wrong. People here can try to help troubleshoot if you want

That driver doesn’t have room for any additional COBs.

Oh all kinds of things have gone wrong, it's been very educational. For instance now they've got bugs.

200/9=22.2 watts per square foot - I'm thinking you're a little short on light there to get the results you're after.

Your light would look nice with a quantum board smack bang in the middle of it too.

Protein for your munchies? can you get beneficial predator insects there? Here in Finland you need a license to buy them, but I hear they really work.

...adding two times more modules (cutting current to half)
so 8 cobs?
