Finished a test run in 2x2 cabinet.
I'm convinced now to replace my MH and HPS in my other 2x4 cabinet.

Details:
Cabinet- 2x2x5 foot, DWC with drip 15min every 4 hours.

Light- hlg185 with 18 x 1 foot BXEB Gen2 3500K. Driven at 18.9V 350mA 119W ~813PPFD for most of grow.

Plant- kingtut clone vegged 24/0 400W MH 3 weeks.


Results about 1g/W. Bud pretty dense real good smoke.

For comparison here is same plant done under 600 HPS.

Under 120W LED.

Looks great, I like the 2x2x5 footprint. How did it go height-wise, how tall did it get from bottom of pot to top of light?

Could you distinguish the plants grown under different lights in a blind test? When you smoke it I mean.

I think I had about 1 1/2 feet clearance maybe. So bout 44".

As far as taste smell and stregth the LED takes it for sure. The small LED buds are deceptively dense. HPS bud is rock.

Physically pretty easy to tell the diff.

Bud on left is from 120 LED. Right is 3 150w hps (600W from wall).

Wait a minute. I'm tired now, but when I see it like this I want to say that the difference is not supposed to be so big :O But obviously the plant looks like it got more than enough light. Is the HID plant with much fewer branches? Can't really see it in the picture

What was the yield for both? Awesome test by the way.
