So I've been debating on buying a Alibaba hlg550 v2 kit. Comes with 4x qb288 v2. Comes with the HLG-480H-48B driver but want to swap it for the c2800b driver for series. Does it matter if I go with either one? Am I better off running parallel or? Thanks in advance

Am I better off buying this driver?

Alibaba knock off boards could have several different forward voltages.
I would ask the supplier to help you work it out.
They are not a HLG550 they are a knock off

As not genuine better to run in series buddy. I'd run the 480 2100 but you'll only get around 490w at the wall. You can always add a qb 18 to this mind and that then pulls a full 550w from the wall.

Pretty sure it doesn't work like that. At best, an HLG-480H-C2100A could get you 519W (test report says 2.266A)

It's certainly confusing when HLG names their product the HLG550 while it uses an HLG-480H driver.

But like Teknik mentioned, there's zero guarantee that a knockoff will run at the same voltage.

It does buddy. The driver just manges the total voltage and runs at a tested 550w at the wall wit 4 qb288 and 1 qb18. But apparently the hlg 480 drivers don't like being pushed that hard certainly not in a hot environment. So best at the 490w. But I run mine remotely so hopefully she'll hold.

From the drivers spreadsheet you can see the max temp. It's probably really high. If the driver box gets hit by any air movement it will run much cooler.

Yeah I'm going to run a 6" clip on fan for them should drop them by about 20c improving efficiency and mtbf. Why not for £7. :D
