Good afternoon all,

Just working on my third build ; going to try out the new Samsung H inFlux strips this time. Going for QTY 8 of the following SL-B8T2N80LAWW 2 footer strips running around 90%.

Question for you all ; I am looking at a choice between the HLG-480H-24A and HLG-480H-36. Which of these drivers would you choose for this setup?

I have a feeling the HLG-480H-24A will be fine, but I wanted to check with you lovely folks!

Cheers,

Considering the L04 has a max power around 25-35 watts each, the 480watts driver is massive overkill?

Yeah seems like you'd need more like 20 strips for that driver (the -24A version is what you'd want). At least 14 or 15 I guess if you're aiming for 90% of their 1.6A max.

Thanks a bunch for the replies. I am assuming that the 240H-24A would be an acceptable driver in that case? Saves me about $100 so wouldn't be complaining! Given my space, I will most likely be limited to a QTY 8 of the strips.

Correct, the HLG-240H-24 would be better suited.
It provides up to 10amp, 10/8=1.25A per strip. At 1.25A, the strips will run at around 23.4v. This would give you 234watts of light, good coverage for 6-7 square feet of flowers.

However driving them that hard will take their efficacy down to 147lm/w, but if you're limited in space then that's just the way it is. Depending on your locality, consider LT-F562B strips instead. 8 of those on the same 240H-24 driver would be at 177lm/w, a big jump in photons.

What are the dimensions of your space?
