UV module build

In the Seoul semiconductor video on UV the lecturer gave an overview on the significance of light frequency for activating stress responses.
With 285nm they suggested 0.1mw/cm2, and with 310nm 10x more power was needed.

Having asked a few questions from growers with experience with UV I was about to buy the agro UV bulbs I saw the UV masters recommend, but now I am having second thoughts. With the experts already documenting that side of things I thought I could just do a side by side with a low power UV-C chip.

In the video they claimed one 10mw diode should take care of a normal growspace. I found it weired because it would mean extremely uneven coveradge, and I don't see the numbers matching the 0.1mw/cm2 which they stated as the science. I found a smaller diode which is rated for 4mw, so I was thinking 4 of those should do a way better job. As a plus these are already on starboards.

Here are the diodes:

And here is the driver I imagine would run 4 of those:

! :EDIT: There is another model of this diode at digikey that costs 50% more, and has double the output. 8mw compared to 4 on these. It has the same 100mw input so it would work on the same driver.

I also changed driver from that listed above, to a much cheaper meanwell that Teknik proposed. :EDIT: !

1. I think this driver allows me to run quite a few of these, by combining series and parallel wiring. If I wanted to run only 2 diodes, is there a way I can limit the current with a resistor or something, so current per diode would not go over 100mA?

2. Do you know any more suitable CC drivers in the 75-100mA range? I could not find any in digikey, besides board mounted stuff that I might not know how to use.

3. Criticism? Advice? Ideas?

Wear sunglasses.
Maybe use an LDD driver in series to power them
Let us know how it works out

So maybe one of these with 4 diodes in parallel?

Will be sure to get some glasses, and will be updating the thread as I progress, or as questions emerge.

UVC?

Only benefit i know of is pathogen control, and even that is like 5-10 sec exposure at close range.

They are claiming solid science in the Seoul video, I found it quite interesting. Worth testing I think. It's not supposed to feed photons to the plant, just activate stress pathways

Thanks for sacrificing...maybe it’s true...

I am highly skeptical of any net benefit...as perhaps you can tell....

They are correct, tho, the plants will get stressed...getting your dna destroyed tends to be stressful....

Lookin forward to being surprised....

Aloha & in Hawaii for decades the primo AAA grade comes from higher elevations all along this island chain.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6455078/
