From a growers perspective I still wonder how to evaluate these kinds of meters. I saw other people wondering about the same thing. Also noting that it seems the better the device, the more narrow the band it captures.
I am very tempted to pay 150$ to test the middle model spectrometer from that French company I linked above. I used linux since the 90's, there are limits to what I would pay for software. A setup that does not depend on connecting to a laptop would seem to be quite superior, but I do have a laptop, so wouldn't the best budget solution still be something like this?

Like I said, good equipment gets expensive fast, a home grower has the time to play around, things change in a professional environment quickly.
