Thanks for the tip!Maxxor wrote: ↑Thu Nov 23, 2017 6:06 amIf you're going to be to mounting rigid LED strips to an aluminum heatsink or 'U' channel, this is the type of tape to use:

Two-sided thermal transfer tape.
If you're looking for a durable, high temperature tolerant tape to hold things neatly in place on your heatsink (like wiring to/from your LED strips), then 'Kapton' tape is a good choice:

That's really interesting as I was going to buy Thermal Paste for my build. This will save me some bucks and bring more convenience. Are you sure Kapton tape is better? Because price is nearly the same and I will stick with the best thermal tape avaiable.
Definitely go with the thermal tape. I'm using the same one and it's great. It transfers heat nicely and evenly and also attaches the strips to the U-Channel.
I didn't know about the Kapton tape. It looks intriguing and awesome.

I got this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075F ... UTF8&psc=1
it's 82 feet long so it'll last you forever. I went with 20mm size as it fit the width of the 4ft F series leds I was using. I went with the thinner version because i didn't see a need for the thicker one and it was cheaper.

I'm planning on doing a build with the EB Series™ Gen 2 as soon as they are available. I check my cart in Digikey before I go to bed in anticipation. lol
Should I use 20mm or 25 mm wide tape?
Cheers

From the digikey page i'm seeing, the strips are listed as 24mm wide. Therefore I would recommend the 25mm tape so that the entire width of the led strip can be mounted onto the tape. It'll lead to better thermal transfer. When I mounted my strips, First I put down the thermal tape onto the heatsink, centering the tape the best I could on the U channel. Then I laid down the strip onto the thermal tape, centering it on the tape.
