Digi-Key wanted 2x price as future electronics and would do a small quantity. Maybe they will be in stock eventually as I would also like some 5700k. I am mixing the 6500 and 3500 together for terrarium use.

Interesting. I did read about a guy who mixed 6500k and 5000k 2:1 to get a cri100.
I am thinking about mixing with eb gen3 cri90/80 but for that it’s important where the peaks are for working out well.
But future will bring even better leds cause there are still many weaknesses.

I want to test some of these thrive strips so let me know if they are available anywhere, without a big MOQ

I only know the German source. It would be very interesting to see a hand made spd chart.
It’s hard to trust bridgelux when u find numbers with so big differences.

we have been testing the 98 CRI chips and Thrive did not come out too well but we think Bridgelux sent us the wrong chips. Cree and Lumileds have better efficiency

What's missing from most SPD charts is some basic information for adequate comparison.

The Spectral Wavelength Percentage distribution (%B-G-R-FR) along with the SPD Chart would answer many questions, but most Vendors and Manufacturers don't provide that info, its usually provide by individuals posting their Spectrometer readings.




Recently LED Grow Light Manufacturers have been required to include both SPD Charts and SPD in umol/s (easily converted to %) to become "Listed"... https://www.designlights.org/horticultu ... ng/search/

What your suggesting is not difficult to provide, but i would question, on this forum, its value. I see you post many replies to peoples ?? but matching drivers to boards, wiring etc would be 99% of what you respond to. Its a level of minutia that is always available for anyone who needs it. I only make the comment as I already find customers confused by the reams of available data out there. I guess what would be more salient is what those % mean to a grow(er), would make a good stickie I think

I agree that its not difficult to provide, since many Grow Light Manufacturers already have the available info.

I also agree that more "Consumer Education" is needed to dispel the perpetuated confusion / misinformation. One way is to include Percentage Wavelength Distribution with its relevance (or not) to CCT, CRI (for Phosphor Converted White LEDs) and the typical Supplements; UV, 660nm (Deep Red) and 730nm (Far Red), just as PPF and PPE (total output and efficiency) are now being included in the specifications of many Growlights.

IMO, the value is that you would be able to compare the actual Wavelength distribution from different Light Sources, LED Strips and Manufacturers as show in the attached comparison chart (with the DLC Listed LED Grow Light % info), making "apples to apples" comparisons. Its been my observation that many vendors sell their products with inadequate information in an attempt to simply increase sales.

On this forum there appears to be a need for help in sizing and wiring the DIY Grow light builds, and I'm glad to help where I can.

I guess this statement seems counter intuitive but true, Im very interested in providing more information to increase sales, the issue is the fine line between reams of data and confusion, pertinent data is the goal but that is subjective, one mans pertinent is another's frustration, the DLC Listed LED Grow Light % info seems like a good concept and more is better, I would like to see simple assessments of what % and changes in % mean to growers
