You can see the spacing along the bottom of his drawing in millimetres

Its kind of hard to see the numbers, but for total size, essentially I have limits horizontally and vertically, so the frame is as large as I can make it (42.5" long, 24" wide). I also wanted to put some small fans in the array, because I'll be attaching this to the roof of the box, and airflow is a problem, so I have to account for 3 40mm fans. I thought about venting the box from the top, but it would look weird from the outside, and then its no longer waterproof. So I know I have 2 1" tubes for the frame, and 24 1" heat sinks, and 3 40mm fans, which in millimeters is equal to (25.4*2)+(25.4*24)+(40*3)=780mm. The whole thing is 1079.5mm long, so if I subtract out the 780mm, that leaves me with 299.5mm of blank space, or space that is not occupied by aluminum or fans, and since there are 20 blank spaces, that means there is 14.95mm of blank space between the strips. The top row of little numbers is the accumulated length or distance from the beginning. I wrote this in excel, I hope it helps.

My fault sorry.

I should have wrote something more lol. With an even spacing between all the strips you get more light at the center than at the "borders", this way you have to keep the light higher.

Very nice design. I was thinking of building a light with these same strips. Can you tell me where you bought them, part # etc.

I ordered them from arrow.com, a little bit cheaper than digikey.

Starting to take shape, have the strips mounted to the heatsinks which are mounted to the frame. Still alot of work to do.

Awesome! Looking really good, man. Wiring will be tedious but it'll be worth it when it's done.

Got the lights hooked up tonight. Running the whole thing in parallel, split into 4 sections, as to not overpower the connectors, per Ledgardeners advice.

One thing that is nice, is that the lid is hooked up to gas struts, and its strong enough to hold it open, even with the added weight.

I have 6 plants in there that I am about to start flowering. I had been holding off until I installed the new lights, and the plants are quite large now. There are holes in the floor the size of the pots, so I can raise the box about a foot from where it is now, but ill still have problems with vertical space.
