Had a look at solacure and seems like they are pioneers. You might have already bumped into the chatter, but Seoul semi published some data on using low levels of UV-C to get more THC and terpenes. For the moment it seems the led market is exploring the lower end of the possible power range, so the products are pretty mild compared to solacure. Also they cost a lot.HomerPepsi wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 3:39 amI chose to purchase solacure lights in my May, 2019, and am glad I did. My understanding with the Fluorescent bulbs is that their lifespan is degraded by the power up cycle. I've yet to burn one out.
While I was hunting for a good uv b source, I researched uv LED's, I don't know if anything had changed in the last few months, but my largest concern was lifespan, and sourcing the low end uv spectrum. When I spoke with Dennis from solacure, he said he has no problem jumping ship when the tech is right for him and his applications. But weren't quite there yet at that moment.
I think they force a stress response in the plant to create resins while it is growing, not curing. They use the same DNA-altering effect to kill botrytis and other pathogens during curing. Pretty sure it's used in short blasts in either case, and is very good at effing you up too, especially your eyes, so be careful please. Haven't decided on what wavelength I'll end up using, but it will certainly be run through a door switch!unkle_psycho wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 9:25 amI have a friend coming over from the US, I was thinking of getting the 4 for 99$ solacure tubes... Could do some comparison with the UV diodes. Also thinking I might test them for curing tobacco and weed. Or is the curing thing just for resins?
