I am getting ready to setup a second DIY light based on the 6, 1 ft., BXEB-L0280Z-50E1000-C-B3 strips, using a HLG-120H-20b driver. I would like to add in one or two 2 ft. BXEB-L0560Z-50E2000-C-B3 strips on a switch that I could turn on while I need a seedling light (this light will be on a different shelf from the main light). The 6 strips are going over a new ebb and flow systems I have in my grow space. As long as I am ensuring that they are all on or that the two extra strips are off when the unit powers up, should I be OK? Based on reading the data sheet they both have the same max current and voltage so I am assuming so but wanted to ask the group.

Thank you!

Adding an extra parallel line on a switch should not make any problems. Check the max ratings of whatever switch you use.

They wont share the power equally between strips though, the longer strips will draw double the power to the short strips, so power will be shared equally per diode.

Sharing the light will dim your main 6strip fixture quite a bit.

Thanks for the information! I will just grab some extra 1 ft. strips and add those in when I need them to offset the dimming. Again, thank you!
