Hello guys,

I already succesfully build a 9xCXB3590 for a 4x4 tent on 50% efficiency. My new project is an 8x4 tent with FB24B strips which i also want to run at 50%.
The plan is to make 2 frames approximately 1164mmx1135mm with each 16xFB24B (so 32strips in total) strips. I choosed 4x MW HLG-480H-48A drivers for the 2frames in total. So in the veg stadium i can put half of the lights off.
The strips are 103Watts. so its correct they will run at approximately 50W each correct?
I understand if some of you will say it will be overkill, but im more interested if it will work as i described.

Thank you in advance!

103w is their nominal current, the digikey page didn't say what the max current is, and I was lazy to check in the documentation. Normally what we would call 50% would be 50% of max.

If you go to the front page of the site there is a section 'calculators' where there is a strip build tool. If you choose samsung and your model, you can also select 50%, and it will show you the specs and propose a driver.

Thanks, you saved me for a big mistake even you didn't answer my questions :D . With the help of the tool i found out that the max current for 1 strip is 3600mA, and then i calculated the max power will be 164,8W. I want to run them at 50%, so that will be 82.4W each. I will use 12 strips on 4x4 with 2 HLG-600H-48A drivers. In totall that will be around 1000W on 4x4.
This will be the good setup i think, i hope somebody can confirm that i didn't misscalculated before i am going to place the order.

6 LT-FB24B per hlg-600h-48A looks good. At full blast with both lights you could hit nearly 1300W. In a 4x4? Dang.

If your goal is to hit ~1000W in a 4x4 you could accomplish that with two HLG-480s instead of the 600.

I Will never run them on 1300W maybe 1000 max. That will be around 700W per sq metre. Do you know if the dimfunction will work proparly if i connect the strips parallel?

Thanks guys, so the advice if i want 1000Watt in 4x4 i should take 2x HLG-480. That will be 960W together. In practise, will they hit the 1000W?

At least I think it will be the highest light intensity built here. Usually the guys with 600w in a 4x4 have to dial down quite far into their grow... If you build it I hope you document some growing so we can see what it does.

1000/16=62.5w per square foot
960/16=60 per square foot

That is how most people here would look at it. Most builds aim for around 30w/ sq foot, with high power builds going for 40. 60 is boldly going where no man has gone before. Hope the environment is dialed in :D
