LEDs and Driver

Hello,

I have yet another newbie build question thread.

I am looking to build a lighting system to supplement overwintering some plants (mainly citrus), since you know the world is still shut down and I need something to do. I don't see any small builds on the forum so I am a bit lost

I was thinking of using two SL-B8R5C9H2AWW

and if i understand correctly (which I probably don't) I need a driver that can handle

Watts = 51W * 2 = 102/0.8 = ~128W
Forward Voltage (this one I am iffy on) = 43.1
Current (this one I am iffy on) = 1.2 * 2 = 2.4

With the above, I was thinking of using a mean well NPF-120D-48

Which has the below specs

120W
28.8 ~ 48V
2.4A

I was told by someone the above will work, I don't know 100% why, so I don't know my options. I certainly want a dimmer.

Thank you,
Bestinc.

Other strips are alot cheaper and have higher performance than those Samsung strips

Hmm, I am not stuck on my particular brand/setup. Perhaps I should build a couple theoretical setups so I can compare costs and performance. Does my math on driver fit work? That's my main struggle now (among many)

Thanks for the response

Driver should work, XLG drivers are more common and cheaper

For learning's sake, if I were to choose a XLG driver for the 2 samsung strips (not saying I am going to), I would be looking at XLG-150-H-AB? Except I would have to add more strips so I am using enough of the driver? I don't see any drivers in XLG between 100-150

Driver Specs:
150W
27 ~ 56V
2.8A

What if I were to run 3 BXEB-L0590U-50E1500-C-C3 and 3 976-BXEB-L0590U-35E1500-C-C3-ND (just 3 5K and 3 3.5K) in a configuration of 3 in series and bank another bank of 3 in parallel, would I be able to use XLG-150-H-AB

Or am I off base on that?

I might be better off with something closer to HLG-120H-48B

The dimmer certainly limits me, but unfortunately necessary

Its better not to mix spectrums, just buy 4000K if you want something close to 4000k

Thats really good to know. Thank you.

Would the Bridgelux setup work? It is way cheaper than the Samsung setup. Sorry for so many questions, trying to learn

Each light is around:
14W-15W
19.1V
0.7A

XLG-150-H-AB
150W
27 ~ 56V
2.8A

or

HLG-120H-48B
120W
24 ~ 48V
2.5A

The xlg would give it more power. What size area are you trying to cover?

Its not your typical build. I am relatively flexible but it would be about 24-27"W by 12-14"D by 30-36"H and would not be covered. Essentially a 1x2. If I like the setup I would then do 2 to replace a shelf unit with a fluorescent bulb on it
