Hello internet! Only just found this forum after looking for what seems a decade, I know I'm in the right place.
I'm looking to build a light for my 4x4 space, I already have a HLG-480h-48a driver and my plan was to utilise this to keep my costs down.
I am happy to use any strips at 3500k so I found these, would 4 of these suffice or have I missed the ballpark completely?https://www.digikey.com/en/products/det ... G0wAD3oBIA

It all seems gibberish to me annoyingly but I want to learn, any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you run those strips at the test current they will be 39w. If you run at max current they will be 75w. So at test current 4 strips will give you 156w or if you turn them up you can get 300W. But you need heatsinks to account for that. The min adjustment voltage on the HLG 480H 48a is 40.5V. But I believe in reality they can go down a little more based on a chart I saw here of actually tested voltage ranges on the HLG Units.

Bear in mind the harder you drive this driver the more it approaches it top efficiency. I think with just 4 strips it will be a few percent down from max. Also not sure if you were planning on running CC mode or CV on this. Also the data sheet says usually in CV mode it's through another another DC - DC driver. But given the voltage adjustment range I think you don't need the second driver but someone cleverer than I may think otherwise.

why those strips instead of BXEB-L1120Z-35E4000-C-B3 ?

Just curious
