Going to try and make a cheap 260w light

These 260w CV 12v drivers from arrow are $13.15 US
https://www.arrow.com/en/products/vlb26 ... VLB260W-12

these 3500k strips SL-B8U1N40L1WW for $ .81us each

I figure 18 strips per driver split into 3 stets of 6 in parallel. for 14.4w per strip for a total of 18 strips. I could go 24 strips per driver if they are too hot.

Lot's of wiring lol

12v driver and 12v strips

You would have to run then all in parallel.

16 in parallel would by 12v 22.08 amps average.

Driver is 12v 21.67 amps, giving
1.35a per strip with 16 strips in parallel.

1.2a for 18 strips in parallel.

@CanadianClosetGarden ,
Thanks for sharing your proposed build.
Just curious, What's the coverage / grow area? Thanks.

The “IMPORTANT!” note printed on the Driver recommends “electrical bonding” or connecting all three (3) Positive and all three (3) Negative wires (Separated by Polarity) to create a single pair (typically) Heavier AWG wires for the 12 Vdc Output. Good luck.

Some Calculations:
At 260 Watts and 128 Lm/W that’s (260 W * 128 Lm/W =) 33,280 Lm
(128 Lm/W * 0.015 PPF/Lm) = 1.92 PPE (PPF/W) LED Efficiency
(260 W * 1.92 PPE) = 499.2 PPF System Output
(260 W / 0.93 Eff) = 280 Watts Input
(499.2 PPF / 280 W) = 1.78 PPE (PPF/W) System Efficiency
