Fixture Building

Hey guys, planning an upgrade to my current fixture. Currently I've got 2 wavy boards screwed to a simple aluminum angle rectangle. They are being hung by 2 taught pieces of paracord that run on each side as anchors and then a ratcheting hanger holding on to each piece of cord. This allows me to get it pretty close to the top of my tent if need be since there is no slack.
For my new fixture, I want to use c channel pieces as heatsinks adnd connect them with 2 angles. Then I want to mount my now 3 boards to these c channels.. How does that sound?
Also, has anyone ever used small PC fans to cool the fixture? My current one gets a bit hot 2100mA per board run 24/7 for autos.
