I need some of you to shed some light on my questions.
I actually own 2 Secret Jardin DARKROOM 3.0 DR120, 47" x 47" x 79"- I’ve been using some led from aliexpress in the two grow tents.
I’ve recently switched to only one grow tent to see how the two lamps would perform in it and i must say it’s pretty nice compared to the previous two harvest. Thing is i also increased my skill and overall knowledge of growing so that may be part of it. Also i think the fact that it covers way more grow space the plants profit from it. Now i want to step up my game and actually build some led myself so i can cover all the grow space with also more efficient lighting.
I’ve read about quantum boards and samsung Diodes and it’s seems really nice for the price.
I’ve read that it’s usually a good ratio is close to “40w per square foot” .
So if i have 4x4 foot i need 16x40w to cover the space ?
I’m looking at thoses boards since i’ve heard great things about the maker and they really seems like HLG550 v2..

So here are my questions.
I want to put a HLG550 from the supplier in my tent but the way its arranged pretty much sucks.
I think i can either mod it to accomodate more stripe or disperse the stripe on the board.
What do you think about the idea ?
i know that i could go the DIY route i've seen the led strip build on the website but
I'm really in between because it seems way easier to go the HLG way.
If i want to go totally diy I need to order the samsung lm301b from china and pay the shipping. I also need to buy the meanwell and it seems hard to find here where i live etc. Pairing them doesnt seems to hard and it seems like i can workout something diy fitted to my space and needs which is nice but on the diy build page it says "Total Price Estimate (USD) = $621 + Shipping" for the same setup as a hlg 550 v2 http://ledgardener.com/diy-led-strip-bu ... #more-2416

And you know if i buy 2 of thoses hlg 550 v2 it's probably the same price as the diy version explained here but i get 2 meanwell out of it. Not sure if i can change the build on the HLG550 v2 and space the things out or add others led strips on it. So i need your help and ideas
